Officials have announced that recounts for the New Albany Plain-Local School Levy were not necessary, it remains a winner.

According to the Franklin County Board of Elections, the levy, also known as Issue 50, picked up additional votes once the provisional ballots were counted.

Issue 50 is a combined 2.59-mill bond issue that would generate $45.1 million and a 4.24-mill continuous operating levy that will generate $3.51 million.

Issue 50 also affects property owners. Under the new levy, property owners will pay $209.24 a year. That is about $130 for the levy and $79 for the bond issue, per $100,000 of assessed property value.
