A woman was rushed for medical attention after being stabbed in the chest Sunday.
The stabbing occurred in the 1500 block of East Maynard Avenue, around 8 p.m.
A neighbor said that she discovered the victim lying in front of the home around 7:30 p.m.
"I was like, 'Oh my God!, There's somebody laying out there! Looks like they're dead!' And the cops were on their way, coming down the street. And they picked her up very abruptly. So I thought she was dead. They put her on a gurney and took her out of here," Sierra Pickens said.
The woman was taken in serious, but stable, condition to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Police did not immediately release the motive behind the stabbing. The victim’s identity was not released.
A police helicopter helped search the neighborhood after witnesses reported seeing a woman running toward some railroad tracks shortly after the stabbing.
