The National Hockey League announced the cancelation of the 2013 All-Star Celebration slated for Columbus in January.

According to representatives of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the NHL canceled the game and celebration, scheduled for Jan. 24-27.

The league decided to cancel the game because a resolution to the lockout has still not been reached.

Games through Dec. 14 also have been canceled.

Many business owners in the Arena District said it is not just money that is being lost.

Several businesses, including the R Bar, was hoping to cash in on some all-star business.

“We’re just missing out on that opportunity to showcase columbus as an amazing venue for you know upcoming larger events, and just showing that we really do have a strong hockey community," said Natalie Darr of the R Bar.

Fans who have purchased tickets to either or both the Honda NHL SuperSkills event or All-Star Game will receive a refund directly from authorized ticket outlets, including the Blue Jackets, the NHL and Ticketmaster.

Refunds will be issued using the same method of payment as the original purchase.
