Ohio State Marching Band Fine-Tuning Performance For Michigan Matchup

UPDATED: Friday November 23, 2012 6:22 AM

Football players are not the only Ohio Staters working hard going into the big game on Saturday.

The Ohio State University marching band has been tearing up the practice field. The Ohio State-Michigan faceoff is their opportunity to put an exclamation point on what has been a remarkable season of performances.

Drum Major Kyle West and the rest of the band have a high bar to beat. Fans would be remiss to forget the halftime performance during which the band formed into a galloping horse that earned the band 14 million hits on YouTube.

Even the school up north could not deny the performance. Michigan’s band director emailed a congratulatory message.

Band members hope to wow fans with a routine to the music of Disney’s “Fantasia.”

Senior Jocelyn Smallwood will be the first woman to earn the right to dot the I in script Ohio for an Ohio State-Michigan matchup.

Band members said that the performance would be nothing short of “electric.”
