The Hocking County Sheriff's Office said a man surrendered after a standoff that lasted more than three hours Friday.

Deputies responded to a domestic violence call around 4:45 p.m. in the 36000 block of Smith Chapel Road in Logan.

Dispatchers discovered a woman and her two daughters were inside the home with an armed man. The woman and two children were able to escape from the home and run to a neighbor's home.

Deputies said at least one gunshot was fired while the women were in the home.

Deputies said Delia Sikovitz, 56, was shot in the chest by her husband. The bullet did not penetrate her skin. Sheriff Lanny E. North said she was lucky. One of the daughters injured her hand during a struggle.

Negotiators spoke with the suspect, Paul Sikovitz, 65. Captain Mingus with the Logan Police Department convinced Sikovitz to surrender peacefully.

Sikovitz is charged with felonious assault. He is currently in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail. He is expected to appear in the Hocking County Municipal Court early next week.
