Volunteers of America prepared to bring hearty holiday meals to those in need on Thursday.
The organization prepared more than 2,500 Thanksgiving meals Wednesday morning. Volunteers worked to prepare stuffing, turkey and all the fixings for the meals.
This year marked the group's 22nd annual Thanksgiving Day "Care-A-Van" program. Each holiday meal goes to a family in need who applied for one to be delivered on Thanksgiving.
To date, Volunteers of America had delivered more than 43,000 Thanksgiving Day meals to the homeless and hungry.
