The holiday rush is not only for the roads, grocery stores are also jam packed as Thanksgiving meals draw near.
Shoppers crammed into the Market District grocery store, located in Upper Arlington.
The atmosphere was described as “festive,” as last minute shoppers searched through aisles for family favorites.
The rush, despite the fact that the cost of Thanksgiving dinner is up just about one percent this year, $50.99 for a complete turkey dinner for a family of 10.
The Farm Bureau said that the cost of stuffing, bread and rolls has gone up while the price of turkey, potatoes and cranberries is down. Most shoppers we talked to say they spent more at the checkout on their thanksgiving staples this year.
Market District’s doors will be open until 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
