Detectives were working to track down a man they say targeted central Ohio gym-goers.
Authorities said that the man is stealing credit cards from lockers and racking up charges.
The man is suspected in nearly a dozen of the thefts dating back to mid-August. Five of the thefts occurred at the Urban Active, Powell location.
Some gym customers said that they were not surprised by the thefts.
“I do see a number of occasions here where people don’t lock their things up,” Tom Borowski said. “I go to open a locker and, low and behold, there is someone’s clothes in there, but they don’t have it locked up.”
Detectives said that people are leaving their lockers open to thieves. They have connected the same suspect to thefts from gyms in Westerville, Pickerington and Grove City.
Detectives believe the thief is driving a silver Lincoln Navigator. In most cases, the stolen credit cards are used to purchase gift cards.
Anyone with information that could assist investigators in tracking down this suspect is asked to call Powell detectives at 614-396-3346.
