Multiple law enforcement agencies worked together to bust an alleged medical marijuana trafficking operation on Monday.

According to the METRICH Drug Task Force, agents from the task force, the U.S. Postal Inspectors, the Mansfield Police Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ashland Police Department issued search warrants at two locations in connection with trafficking large amounts of medical marijuana from California to Mansfield.

Detectives identified Layton Dawes, 33, who they arrested after a controlled delivery to a location in the 300 block of Wayne Street in Mansfield.

Investigators then served a search warrant at Dawes' home on Greenfield Drive, where they found about 276 pounds of marijuana.

Detectives also identified and arrested Ronnie Perry, 35, as part of the alleged trafficking ring.

A search warrant at Perry's home, also located on Greenfield Drive, uncovered 170 pounds of marijuana and $50,000 in cash.
