A "person of interest" is in custody in connection with a suspicious fire at a pregnant woman's front door.

Flames overtook the porch of a home, located along Chatford Square, around 3:45 a.m.

The pregnant woman and her three children inside the home were able to escape without injury.

She said the sound of a smoke detector woke her up, and she took the children out through a back door.

"It was a mess, it was a mess. I am trying not to cry right now, because I am going to hold it in the hands of God," said the woman's mother, Tina Ross. "My grandkids, that's what's devastating about it."

The children, age seven and younger, were not injured.

The mother was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

Investigators brought an arson dog to the scene. Authorities collected canisters and a section of the door frame as evidence.
