Sheriff's deputies in Shelby County along with the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Ohio SPCA) raided a facility in Maplewood, Ohio Saturday morning.

A spokeswoman for the Ohio SPCA said that a warrant was issued at a place on the 8000 block of Tawawa-Maplewood Road around 8 a.m.

According to the Ohio SPCA, around 200 dogs were extracted from an alleged 'puppy mill'.

The property is owned by Dave and Rhonda Auton who run a business called Pedigree Pets, according to deputies.

Animals found on the property were in "very poor health", said a news released from Shelby County investigators.

Officials said Saturday's raid was a result of a six month investigation.
