A computer and a briefcase belonging to Ohio State University president E. Gordon Gee were stolen from a Short North area valet lot on Thursday night.

Columbus police are investigating two smash-and-grab robberies between 8-9 p.m. Thursday in a lot near East Goodale Street and Convention Center Drive. Two vehicles in the valet parking lot were broken into.

In one of the cases, the items belonging to OSU’s Gee were stolen.

Gee was not immediately available for comment, but an OSU spokesperson said that no university information was compromised in the theft and that the university had measures and protocols to manage its property.

No arrests have been made in the theft.
