Marion police are trying to track down the subjects of photos found inside a man’s home.
Police searched the home of Richard Hale, 53, on Capaldi Drive on Wednesday and said they found nude images of young girls.
Hale allegedly appears in some of the pictures engaged in sex acts with the girls. Investigators said that some of Hale's victims could be as young as 12.
One woman told 10TV that she was concerned one of her family members could be a victim.
“I called the police department and I have a detective calling me tomorrow to see if my girls or my granddaughters are in one of the pictures,” she said. “We checked the address and then we were like, ‘Oh my.’”
Hale was arrested after investigators said a 16-year-old girl told a teacher that for the last three years, Hale had been taking pictures of her.
Marion Police Lt. Chris Adkins was one of the first officers to respond to the victim’s school.
“She felt like she was being abused and needed to get help for herself,” Adkins said.
Investigators said that when they searched Hale's home Wednesday they found thousands of photos and videos of underage victims. They said that some of those photos were taken at area hotels.
“We have photos that date back to the middle to late ‘80s,” Adkins said.
Investigators said that Hale offered the girls money to pose for him. Some of the girls allegedly used the money for drugs.
Hale was being held in the Multi-County Correctional Center facing two felony charges. Police expect more charges to be filed as more victims come forward.
