According to Gahanna officials, James A Mills was arrested as his Flint Ridge Drive home at about 11:30 a.m.
Mills, who was arrested by Gahanna police in late September and charged with pandering sexually oriented materials involving a minor, now faces federal charges in connection with child pornography.
Gahanna officials said that the arrest warrant alleged that Mills knowingly persuaded or coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing pornography that has traveled across interstate or national boundaries.
Mills, 71, could receive a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison if convicted.
Mills will be booked with the U.S. Marshals and will be transferred to the Franklin County Jail to await a hearing.
Police told 10TV News in September that they received a complaint about Mills from males ages 21, 15 and 14.
The September warrant stated that the 21-year-old told police that he witnessed Mills playing a naked game, like checkers, with a minor.
Mills previously was banned from the Boy Scouts from allegedly violating the organization's Youth Protection Policy.
