The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies will work overtime starting Friday.
The sheriff’s office said it wanted to have sruisers on all county roadways.
"During the long Thanksgiving travel weekend, many more people than usual are on the roads visiting family and friends "said Sheriff Russell L. Martin. "And our goal is to reduce fatal crashes, alcohol related offenses, and enforce seat belt and speed management. We believe our increased patrol will promote safer roadways."
The overtime is paid for by a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
