Man Loses Vision After Being Struck In Face With Gun

Columbus police are charging a man in an attack with a handgun that cost the victim his vision.

According to court documents, James M. Patterson, 24, attacked Damon Minter and hit him in the face with a handgun on Sept. 12 near Alton and East 10th avenues.

It is believed that Patterson was upset about statement's Minter allegedly made about his girlfriend's son.

Patterson placed the gun in Minter's mouth and then struck him in the face. Patterson allegedly tried to take money from Minter as well.

Minter lost his vision in his right eye as a result of the attack.

The circumstances around the attack were not released.
