Authorities were working to track down two inmates who escaped from the Highland County Jail.

According to authorities Robert Wayne Gibson and Gerald Lee Fletcher were on kitchen detail.

The men ran away from the jail while taking trash to the dumpster on Monday.

Investigators received a tip that led them to find Gibson along the 7000 block of Selph Road a short time later. Fletcher remains on the loose.

Fletcher was being held on a probation violation. He was originally charged for purchasing pseudophed in excess of the legal limit.

Escape charges against Gibson were pending.
