Students at Parsons Elementary on Lee Ellen Place on the south side had to be evacuated Monday afternoon around 3 p.m. due to an odor in the area.
Fire officials checked out the school but did not find anything dangerous.
School officials confirmed that the odor was from the neighborhood, not the school.
Kids were kept at the Southside Church of Christ at 275 Colton Road.
All students were safely picked up.
Students will be allowed back in the building on Tuesday.
