Police Search For Man Considered Armed, Dangerous In Connection With Fatal North Side Shooting

Police were investigating a fatal shooting near the Northern Lights Shopping Center on the northeast side of Columbus on Sunday.

Police said that Jaron L. Kirkling was found in the 1800 block of Huy Road shortly after 3 p.m. with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition, where Kirkling later died.

Investigators said that Kirkling, 26, and a man identified as 22-year-old Brandon Lee Hobbs, got into a verbal argument, and Hobbs fired several shots at Kirkling before fleeing.

Hobbs is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Hobbs' whereabouts was asked to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 614-525-3333.
