One person was hospitalized after a shooting on the east side Saturday evening.
According to police, the person was shot at a home, located on Martha Jane Place shortly before 6:30 p.m.
The victim, identified as 31-year-old Bruce Newby, was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was recovering.
Police said that Newby told them that he pulled into the Abbie Lakes apartment complex after being followed by people in a gray Chevy Impala. Newby got out of his vehicle and was approached by an unknown person, who fired several shots at Newby.
The man who fired shots fled the scene.
Several apartment units were struck by gunshots.
Police were still looking for the person responsible for the shooting.
The conditions surrounding the shooting were not immediately known.
