A charitable foundation sent volunteers on Saturday to work on a campus-area home for Ohio State University student who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Workers painted walls and woodwork, replaced flooring, installed new lighting, improved the landscaping and made several updates in the kitchen.

One resident told 10TV News the building onis a former fraternity house that needed the improvements. And having received them the day before Veterans Day made it even more special.

"It's probably the best Veterans Day gift you could get. The house is looking phenomenal. It's great to get the rest of it done. Makes my life a lot easier and better," Todd Stewart said.

The Celebration of Service project is part of a national, two-month campaign conducted by the Home Depot Foundation to support the needs of veterans.
