New Albany School Officials: Bond/Levy Too Close To Call

New Albany-Plain Local School District officials said that votes were too close to call for Issue 50 on Tuesday.

According to the school district, the combined bond/levy issue received 4,554 votes for the levy and 4,515 votes against it, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

The winner will come down to provisional ballots in coming days.

According to ThisWeek News , Issue 50 is a combined 2.59-mill bond issue that would generate $45.1 million and a 4.24-mill continuous operating levy that will generate $3.51 million.

Issue 50 also affects property owners. Under the new levy, property owners will pay $209.24 a year. That is about $130 for the levy and $79 for the bond issue.
