One person is dead following a shooting on the east side of Columbus on Monday afternoon.
According to police, a 26-year-old man identified as Malik West was shot at about 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of Atcheson Street.
The person was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
Police said that they believed the shooting was a result of a robbery.
The motive behind the shooting was not immediately released.
