A police tactical team fired tear gas into a home Sunday evening to arrest a man that they say threatened his girlfriend with a gun.
No one was injured during the arrest or the incident which prompted it.
Dispatchers received a report around 2:30 p.m. indicating Wynne Lehoe, age 40, had threatened his live-in girlfriend. She escaped from the home and called police.
Officers said Lehoe refused to surrender when they arrived and barricaded himself inside his home on Connor Street.
As a result, officers shut down Curtis Avenue between Midland Street and Connor Street. Police also had some people in the neighborhood evacuate.
Police stormed the house and arrested Lehoe shortly before 6 p.m. They charged him with domestic violence and aggravated menacing.
