An 85-year-old man was charged after officers responded to reports of a shooting last week.

According to ThisWeek Community Newspapers, Nathan A. Hodge was charged with drug trafficking after being arrested near the McDonalds restaurant, located at 1989 Stringtown Rd. on Oct. 24.

Witnesses said that people in a Chrysler and a Saab met in the parking lot of the restaurant. The Saab drove off quickly, and a man, identified as Hodge, 85, fired a shot at the vehicle. Police said that they found a shell casing and a syringe at the scene.

ThisWeek reported that Hodge told officers he was in the parking lot to meet a man named “Lee” to sell him heroin, but “Lee” tried to rob him.
