Police Investigate Bomb Scare Following Bank Robbery

The Columbus bomb squad and Cambridge police were investigating a suspicious device following a bank robbery in Guernsey County.

The FBI said the robbery took place around 1 p.m. at the US Bank on Wheeling Avenue.

After the robbery, a witness told 10TV he saw the man outside the bank with a trench coat on.

Joel Losego told 10TV when Cambridge police tried to arrest the man, the suspect told them he had a bomb strapped to his body.

Officers arrested the man but the area around the bank was evacuated for several hours while authorities investigated the device.

Witnesses told 10TV the scene was declared safe at 9 p.m.

Cambridge Police would not comment on the investigation.
