Columbus Officer Involved In Shooting Is 7-Year Veteran Of Force

The Columbus Division of Police released the named the officer involved in a shooting in the Arena District early Sunday morning.

Officer George White is a seven-year veteran of the police department currently assigned to the patrol bureau.

White was responding to a large fight in a parking lot at 322 Nationwide Blvd., when he heard gun shots coming in his direction.
 
When officers arrived to the scene, they witnessed a four-door dark vehicle fleeing quickly from the area.
 
Police said that they saw people with multiple guns inside the vehicle. Those inside of the vehicle fired shots, and police returned fire.
 
White was uninjured in the shooting, and it was unknown if anyone inside of the vehicle was injured.
 
Police were looking for a vehicle seen speeding away from the area.
