A 12-year-old was taken into custody on Tuesday after leading Coshocton County Sheriff’s deputies on a crash that ended in a field.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a report of a person fleeing along state Route 93 south of Fresno.

Deputies used stop sticks to try to stop the fleeing vehicle.

The driver, identified as a 12-year-old, drove over the stop sticks and then drove into a field.

Deputies used their K9 Dingo to chase the juvenile, who was taken into custody.

Deputies said that the youth, who was not identified, stole a vehicle in Wayne County and left it in Sugarcreek, where he then took a 1997 Chevy truck.

The juvenile was taken back to Sugarcreek.

The incident remained under investigation.
