President Barack Obama's storm-halted campaigning in Ohio will resume Friday.

The Obama campaign said Tuesday a planned Thursday evening rally in western Ohio has been rescheduled to Friday, with doors opening midmorning at a high school athletic complex in Springfield. The time of the president's speech wasn't released immediately.

The campaign said other updates could be made to his schedule as Obama continues to monitor the impact of and response to the superstorm that pounded the East Coast.

The Democratic president earlier Tuesday canceled a planned trip to Cincinnati for a Wednesday rally in the battleground state.

Republican challenger Mitt Romney went to Kettering, Ohio, as planned Tuesday, but he focused on efforts to gather storm relief supplies.
