Police said that one person was dead and one person was injured after a shooting on the east side Tuesday evening.
According to police, the shooting occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. at an apartment in the 1800 block of Gault Street.
A man and a woman were taken to Grant Medical Center after being shot.
The 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital just after 6 p.m.
The female, who was believed to be in her 60s, was expected to survive, but there was no information on her current condition.
The names of the people involved had not been released and the shooting was still under investigation.
Police said that no one was in custody in connection with the shooting.
