Ohio State sophomore linebacker Ryan Shazier was named co-defensive player of the week by the Big Ten after his performance against Penn State.

Shazier recorded a "Pick 6' when he returned an interception 17 yards for a touchdown early in the third quarter.

He also recorded a team high eight tackles including two sacks and a forced fumble.

This is Shazier's first Big Ten player of the week honor.

Shazier wore a special jersey number for the game against Penn State to honor a high school friend and football manager who died earlier this year from muscular dystrophy.
