Lockdown Lifted At Fairwood Alternative Elementary School After Reports Of Shots Fired Nearby

An east side elementary school was placed on lock down Monday afternoon after reports of shots fired in the area.

According to Columbus police, Fairwood Alternative Elementary School, located at Fairwood Avenue and Kent Street, was locked down shortly after 2 p.m.

The lockdown was lifted about 10 minutes later.

Police said that no one was struck by gunfire, but shots were heard.

Officers were searching for a man in connection with the shots.
