Lawyers for a Louisiana inmate accused in the 2011 murder of a Delaware County business man said that they were working on a plea deal ahead of a trail scheduled for February in Mississippi.
Ricky Wedgeworth is accused of kidnapping, beating and strangling 53-year-old David Cupps in March of last year.
Darian “Drake” Pierce also is charged in connection with the alleged murder.
Wedgeworth and Pierce allegedly committed the crime in Vicksburg, Miss., and dumped Cupps’ body in Alabama.
