UPDATED: Friday October 26, 2012 7:09 AM

One woman is recovering after she was injured while escaping a duplex fire in Franklinton early Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to North Yale Avenue in west Columbus around 2 a.m.

Investigators said it appeared the fire started on the porch and spread to both homes in the duplex.

One of the homes in the duplex was vacant, but the other housed seven people, who were forced to escape.

One woman living inside one of the units suffered knee injuries as she ran to safety. She is expected to be OK.

Firefighters said arson investigators were called to the scene and said the cause of the fire was suspicious.

A number of other porch fires have been reported in the area.
