Authorities have put up signs to alert parents in Violet Township near Pickerington about a possible child enticer.
A man in a gray van with a child has been reported trying to lure another child into the vehicle.
A concerned mother questioned the sheriff because her child's daycare and school bus system claimed it did not know about the incident.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department will now create a program to help train families to spot crime.
"We're going to invite parents and children and teach them on how to stay safe,” said Sheriff Dave Phalen.
The program will be in conjunction with the Pickerington police department.
