4 Charged In Connection With Whitehall Man’s Strangling Death

Four people are being accused of strangling a Whitehall man and dumping his body.

According to police, Michael Payne was found shortly after 4 a.m. along the 4000 block of Eastway Court.

Police said that Payne, 38, was found by a man on his way to work.
 
According to police officials, Maxamillion J. Williams, 18, Dartanian M. Hawkins, 19, Jeffery M. Bagley, 32, and Payne’s girlfriend, Amy L. Lambert, 27, were charged in connection with the death.
 
Williams and Hawkins were charged with aggravated murder and kidnapping. Lambert was charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly trying to dispose of evidence from the crime scene. Bagley was accused of tampering with evidence.
 
Bagley and Hawkins have been arrested.

Warrants have been issued for Lambert and Williams.

Payne’s mother, Deborah Payne, said that she last saw her son on Friday afternoon.
 
“I thought he had an appointment to have his window repaired, and he also had a job interview at two which I don't even know (if) he made it to that,” said his mother, Deborah Payne.
