Westerville-Area Bridge Reopened After Suspicious Device Detonated

The Smothers Road Bridge over the Hoover Rervoir has been reopened after a report of a suspicious device.

Emergency crews investigated after a caller reported a possible grenade found near the Smothers Road Bridge near Westerville.
 
The Westerville Fire Department and the Blendon Township Police Department found a suspicious device shortly before noon Monday.

They detonated the grenade-like device as a precaution.
 
There were no reports of injuries.
