A Columbus man was charged in the death of his grandfather on Monday.
Matthew Kasee, 31, has been charged in the death of his 78-year-old grandfather, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Carl Burris was found by his wife last Friday in their home on Drycott Street just after 4 p.m.
Burris was "brutally" beaten to death, according to police.
Kasee was arrested at the Super 8 Hotel on Brice Road.
Kasee is being charged with murder, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said money and jewelry also were taken from the condo where Burris' body was found.
Kasee is being held in Franklin County jail without bond.
