The Ohio State Highway Patrol charged a Madison County ambulance driver with driving without a license.

Todd Picken, 31, was involved in a fatal crash last month at Route 40 and State Route 142.

Picken lost his license last year after a drunken driving conviction, but was driving a Jefferson Township ambulance last month when an SUV crossed the center line and hit it.

Columbus police officer Jody Frederick was driving the SUV and died in the crash.

Troopers believe a medical condition caused her to lose control.
