The Columbus City school board has now accepted the resignation of a teacher accused of abusing students.

Donna Muniz submitted her resignation from Duxberry Park Elementary School in February, and it took effect in June.

The school board made it official this week.

A colleague said she witnessed Muniz screaming at students.

"You're the reason I'm being investigated! You, you and you!" she was reported as saying.

According to Muniz's personnel file, she also grabbed a student by the face, covered his mouth and shook him until he whimpered.

Her colleague said Muniz repeated the same actions four times to other students, and she started throwing things around.

Muniz resigned two days later.

She had previously faced a disciplinary review for bringing a pumpkin knife to work and putting students in "time out" rooms without maintaining a log.
