Police were searching for a man accused of beating another into critical condition.
Investigators said that 25-year-old William Swanson assaulted the victim in the 200 block of Skidmore Street before fleeing the scene.
Authorities said that the assault weapon was a metal baseball bat.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital.
A description of Swanson was not immediately available.
