Troopers said a 14-year-old boy died as a result of a single-vehicle crash in Waverly Thursday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Beau A. Szoke of Waverly died after a vehicle he was riding in crashed along state Route 220 near Strickland Road shortly before 8 a.m.
A release stated that the 2002 Honda Civic driven by Beau's 16-year-old sibling, Skye E. Szoke, lost control on a curve, slid off the road and struck a tree.
Skye's was recovering at a West Virginia hospital.
The crash was under investigation.
