Detectives Working To Crack Delaware County Burglary Ring

UPDATED: Tuesday October 16, 2012 5:14 PM

Tens of thousands of dollars worth of items have been stolen from central Ohio homes recently.

Detectives were asking for the public’s help breaking up the suspected burglary ring.

All five of the burglaries have occurred in either Liberty Township or nearby Concord Township. All have occurred during the day, and thieves have stolen large amounts of jewelry from the homes.

Detectives said that they believed all of the crimes were connected. The break-ins all occurred in a similar way.

“The cost of gold is worth a lot, and a lot of times, it doesn’t make it into a pawn shop,” said Det. Jeff Bessinger of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. “They sell it right on the streets.”

Detectives said that they did not have any people of interest in the cases.
