Columbus police said a bicyclist was struck along High Street near 15th Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said the biker was riding on the sidewalk, which is illegal, before he pulled out into the street.
The bicyclist hit the windshield of the car. He was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was recovering from his injuries.
Police were on the scene investigating the crash, but said they did not expect the driver to face charges. The driver was not injured.
The bicyclist could face charges.
Earlier on Tuesday, an OSU task force announced new plans to increase safety around campus after a number of pedestrians were seriously hurt in accidents over the last few months.
The names of the people involved were not immediately released.
