The Buffalo Zoo's male polar bear is headed to Ohio while the New York zoo builds a new exhibit.

The Buffalo Zoo has going-away events planned throughout the weekend for the big bear, named Nanuq.

Construction of the new Arctic Edge exhibit is not scheduled to begin until spring, but the bear is being sent to the Columbus Zoo now so that he can be acclimated to the new habitat in time for the next breeding season.
