UPDATED: Monday October 15, 2012 6:42 PM

Detectives are investigating a tenured employee at the Ohio Department of Education for child pornography.

According to documents 10 Investigates reviewed, detectives logged onto a computer and electronically searched the educator’s home computer.

10 Investigates is not releasing the name of the ODE employee because he has not been charged.

One detective reported that he logged on remotely and  saw several files with titles of known child pornography images on the computer at the employee’s house.

On another occasion this past summer, a detective said that he discovered a file-sharing program on the computer. According to the detective, he found the image of a girl who was between 6 and 9 years old engaged in a sex act with a man.

Investigators said that the detective discovered a different file that had a title with words including “sister” and “brother.”

Investigators seized laptops, an iPad and a number of computer discs from the man’s home, and neighbors said that the man’s home recently was swarmed by detectives.

The educator hung up on 10 Investigates’ attempt for a statement on Monday afternoon.

The Department of Education sent a two line statement saying only that the man is now on paid administrative leave.

Sources told 10 Investigates that the case could be sent to a grand jury soon for possible federal prosecution.
