Two sisters in Mansfield were attacked by dogs early Thursday afternoon in the vicinity of Franklin Church, Robinson and Chesrown roads.

The girls, ages 22 months and 3 years, were flown to Akron Children's Hospital in critical condition, according to The Mansfield News Journal.

The girls' aunt also was injured and was recovering at a Mansfield hospital.

According to reports, the dogs were three Rottweilers which belonged to the aunt. The dogs have been captured and will be put down, officials say.

The Richland County Sheriff's office is currently investigating.

According to The Mansfield News Journal, the owner of the dogs had the animals euthanized earlier Thursday after the incident.
