Two Pedestrians Struck, 1 Killed In Northeast Columbus

Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in northeast Columbus Thursday night.

Officers said two people were struck around 8 p.m. while crossing Hamilton Road.

A woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a man was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

Hamilton Road was closed at Thompson Road because of the crash, but reopened shortly after midnight.

The driver of the SUV who struck the two stayed at the scene and was not expected to face charges. 

Police continue to investigate.
