Newark High School Student Allegedly Sexually Assaulted Near School

Newark High School officials asked students to walk in groups after police received a report of a sexual assault near campus on Tuesday morning.

According to school officials, a student reported being sexually assaulted on Granville Street near the high school at about 7:30 a.m., The Newark Advocate reported.

The student told police that she did not think the person who assaulted her was a student.

School officials sent alerts to parents Tuesday which advised them to either pick up their children or have them walk in groups.
