A judge set bond at $1 million on Monday for a man accused of using drugs to lure more than a dozen women into prostitution.
David Nelms of Columbus was indicted last week by a Delaware County Grand Jury.
Nelms allegedly advertised the women on online escort websites, according to members of the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force.
He is charged with 17 counts that include engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity with a human, compelling prostitution and promoting prostitution. All of those counts have a human trafficking specification. He also faces numerous drug charges.
Investigators said that they were tipped off to the operation a year ago and kept Nelms under surveillance until he was arrested.
